Virtuoso Symposium Sydney 22-27 April 2009
Unfortunately we will not be attending the Symposium this year – but as you will shortly see (Hopefully) on the Virtuoso Net, we are offering a “set” Pre & Post Symposium Chiangmai Program for those of you attending the Virtuoso Symposium in Sydney in April.
To allow for Members to arrange fairly comfortable flight timings between Sydney & Chiangmai we have based these on the following dates:
- 17-20 April for the Pre - Symposium Chiangmai Program at the Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai
- 28 April- 1 May for the Post - Symposium Chiangmai Program at the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Resort Chiangmai
These are in Conjunction with very special rates provided by Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai & Mandarin Oriental Dahra Dhevi Resort Chiangmai.
Below are the details of our “set” Pre & Post Symposium Chiangmai Programs – However if these dates do not fit in with your plans and you still wish to visit Thailand before or after the Symposium – Please do let us know and we would be more than happy to put a Private Program together for you based on your specific requirements.

PRE-Symposium CHIANGMAI Program
Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai
April 17-20, 2009
April 17, 2009:
On arrival at Chiangmai Airport you will be met and transferred to The Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai, where your reservation is for the next 3 Nights. En route to the Resort, your Guide will give you an introduction to Chiangmai and your Program. Rest of the Afternoon & Evening at your leisure in the Resort.
April 18, 2009:
This morning we have a trip to the Northern Elephant Training Center. Here we watch a demonstration of working Elephants then take an Elephant Ride through the "jungle" to a Lisu Hill Tribe Village (approx. 45 minutes). After a look around the Village, we return by Elephant, or have the option for a short walk back to the Elephant Camp. During the rest of the day we can also have a gentle trip down-river on a Bamboo Raft (approx. 45 minutes), we will have a Local Lunch and can visit the nearby Orchid & Botanical Gardens before returning to the Resort in the late afternoon.
Rest of the Evening at your leisure in the Resort. Vehicles available for a visit to the Chiangmai Night Bazaar.
April 19, 2009:
Special Early Morning Experience
This morning we leave the Resort early and take a short drive to the foot of Doi Suthep, where you can take part in a merit making ceremony by giving Alms (some food & drink, etc.) to the local Monks from Wat Sri Soda. This is an amazing and moving site with usually hundreds of Saffron Robed Monks walking out of the Temple. After this we then drive up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most venerated Temple in Chiangmai, situated on the hill-side some 3000 ft. above the City in the Doi Pui National Park. En route up the mountain we stop for a short “Breakfast” coffee break before visiting The Temple itself (before all the crowds arrive !!). From the Temple Grounds there are panoramic views over Chiangmai and the surrounding area.
On our descent we have lunch at a local restaurant, after which we return to the Resort where the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
Our Guides & Vehicles will also be available for you to explore in & around Chiangmai City.
This evening we have a Special Dinner at the Resort co-hosted by Wanna Tours & Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai.
April 20, 2009:
Day at leisure in the resort until Check out. Transfer to Chiangmai Airport for your onward flight.
Program Includes:
- Private Airport/Resort/Airport Transfers in Chiangmai (Based on Single Group Arrival & Departure) –April 17 & 20.
- Private Touring, Transportation, Entrance Fees, etc., as indicated with Qualified English speaking Guides and Road Transportation by private air-conditioned vehicles in Northern Thailand. April 18 & 19.
- 3 Nights including Breakfast at the Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai. April 17-20.
- Lunch taken at local restaurants April 18 & 19.
- Special Hosted Dinner. April 19
Principal Exclusions:
- Air Tickets & Airport Taxes
- Airline Fuel & Insurance Surcharges at time of Check-in (as applicable)
- Hotel “Extra” Accounts, late checkout arrangements, etc.
- Gratuities (Guides & Drivers)

PRE & POST-Symposium CHIANGMAI Programs
Notes:
- We have based Program & costs on a Minimum Group Size of 4 persons.
- If less than 4 persons then program will still operate, but costs will need to be adjusted accordingly.
- All prices quoted are NETT (non -commissionable),assuming prepayment by your US$ Check or Bank (wire) Transfer to our US$ Account in Chicago (Details will be sent on confirmation) or by American Express Card. and may be revised subject to major currency fluctuations, local tax changes, or other items beyond our control.
- Our Costs are based on us operating a Complete Program and we do not usually breakdown individual costs for individual services
- All Hotels, Rooms, etc. – subject to availability until confirmed by our office.
- All Cost Provisional until we have Confirmed Flight details and Program
Air Tickets
- As indicated our Programs commence and conclude at Chiangmai Airport so you will need to arrange your own flights in and out of Chiangmai.
- And as we are not an Air Ticketing Agent, it would certainly prove more economical for you to book your own Air Tickets for this sector, either through your own CRS, on-line or possibly in conjunction with your International Tickets from the US.
- We therefore DO NOT include any Air Tickets or Air Ticketing arrangements in our Costs.
Booking.
Since we are limiting these Programs to a Maximum of 24 per trip, we would recommend early booking to avoid any disappointment, and we would need the following information in order to proceed with a booking:
- Full Flight Details & Dates of Arrival & Departure Flights (Chiangmai).
- Full Name (as per passport) & Agency.
- Number in your Party and Rooming required

Private Program Bookings
Don't forget when you give us your booking request to prepare a Private Program for your Clients, please give us as many details as possible – You can also share our Sample Examples with Clients (since they don’t have any Prices on them)
