Tour Guide of the Year Award.
We are extremely proud and happy to announce that one of our Wanna Tours Guides -
Mr Anuparp Punnabutr  (Anu) has won the  Thailand 2006 Best Tour Guide of the Year Award.

These Awards in Thailand are now recognized by the UNWTO.

Official Grand opening of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai
11th  November saw the Official Grand Opening of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai. An amazing spectacle of light and sound, stunning “One Night in Lanna” Show and of course a fabulous Food & Wine as only the Mandarin Oriental know how....

Among the distinguished Guests, Marita Marcos (Director of Sales and Marketing of The Oriental Bangkok & Chiangmai) trying to keep Virtuoso Rivals.. David from Wanna Tours & Dennis from A & K Bangkok.. apart!!!

(Editor’s note: Actually that’s not true, Dennis & I are Good Friends - we sat together and drank Champagne all night !!!)

Chiangmai Airport’s New International Terminal
In all the excitement & confusion of the New Bangkok International Airport Opening – We almost overlooked CHIANGMAI AIRPORTS’ latest development. A brand New International Terminal has now been completed and is operational. With additional Air Bridges and dedicated Customs & Immigration Facilities, this new addition will certainly cut down on the congestion we have been experiencing here at peak international arrival flight times.
One Point now, with this New Terminal, is that we do need to know how your Clients are arriving into Chiangmai Airport:

1. Domestically - That is from Bangkok or any other Domestic Airport in Thailand.
2. Internationally - That is if your Clients are arriving either on a direct International flight or have been Checked through on an International flight via Bangkok (i.e. If they just Transit Bangkok Airport and need to Clear Customs & Immigration on arrival in Chiangmai).

Bangkok Airways to start Direct flight between Bangkok & The Maldives..
Beginning November 30th onwards, Bangkok Airways will commence its ‘BOUTIQUE’ service gracing the Maldivian sky, by flying direct between Bangkok and Male, the capital of the world’s most pristine atolls - The Maldives.
The Twice weekly Service on Mondays and Thursdays, leaves Bangkok at 14.50 hrs., and arrives at the Male International Airport at 17.00 hrs. On the return sector, flight leaves back to Bangkok at 18.00 hrs., and arrives at 24.30 hrs.
So now you Clients can combine a relaxing beach in the Maldives, with a vibrant Bangkok & Chiangmai vacation in Thailand.
