20 December 2005.

Greetings from Chiangmai

Well here it is Christmas AGAIN !!

Firstly a couple of Hotel Updates,

Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai
This is the latest release from the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai…

December 2005.

We are pleased to announce the completion of Phase I of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai.

The resort now has a full complement of 68 villas, ranging from the more rustic Suan Pak Villas to the spacious and elegant Deluxe Villas with outdoor Jacuzzis or plunge pools, or the luxurious Residences with pools. The Dheva Spa features a wide range of offerings such as Thai and Swedish massages, reflexology; water treatments such as Hammam and Rhassoul; and Ayurvedic treatments. To experience the various spa offerings in complete privacy and luxurious surroundings, one can now book the Spa Penthouse Suite, or any one of the four well-appointed Spa Suites.

In addition, the resort’s restaurants are now well-established, from the popular Le Grand Lanna where one can experience authentic northern Thai cuisine, the Fujian for dim sum and select Chinese specialities, to the elegant surroundings of Farang-ses for gourmet French cuisine.

Leisure facilities include two tennis courts, a two-level swimming pool with views of the rice paddies, and a fitness centre. The Oriental Culinary Academy offers classes on a daily basis while the Kad Dhara shopping village showcases the best in jewelry, silks home d?cor and local handicrafts that Chiang Mai has to offer. For those with children in tow, the Lanna Kids Club will keep them occupied and busy learning about Thai culture!

The fa?ade of the main lobby and the Colonial Suites are now complete and future work will be restricted to the interiors of the buildings, which will not cause any disruption to your guests’ stay at the resort. This phase will open in March 2006.

We hope to welcome you and your guests soon at Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai.

Best regards

Marita Marcos
Director of Sales & Marketing

D2. Hotel Chiangmai.
The new, ultra Thai modernistic style, of the D2 Hotel Chiangmai would not be out of place in New York and is a very fresh alternative for accommodation right in the heart of downtown Chiangmai. This “hip” Hotel has just soft opened and is now taking reservations- Should be fully completed by the end of January 2006. Check it out at http://www.d2hotels.com/

Bann Tazala Exclusive Residence
This amazing little Property has to be the most exclusive Boutique Accommodation in Chiangmai – the new Bann Tazala Exclusive Residence has soft opened with just 8 Spacious and Incredibly appointed Rooms – it is actually located just across the road from the Mandarin Oriental Chiangmai. We do have competitive rates here – but to date is regularly fully booked….
Check it out at : http://www.banntazala.com/

Low Cost (No Frills) Airlines
As we mentioned a few months back – Chiangmai Airport is expanding with more International & Domestic Flights coming here – Also there are quite a few new Airlines now operating “No Frills” or “Low-cost” Flights in this area.
Now while these do provide some economical benefits – and in some cases better direct connections, there are (as always), many restrictions, etc. with these kind of flights & fares.
SO since your Clients do usually want a certain degree of flexibility in their trips here - for any of our Private Programs that include Domestic &/or Regional Flights, we will continue to book the “Normal” fare Air Tickets with the least amount of restrictions.
As always you should check with your Airline CRS for current Schedules, etc.. and if you need any other information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Virtuoso Symposium Singapore in March 2006
And finally, we are already confirming places on our “set” Pre & Post Chiangmai Programs for the Virtuoso Symposium Singapore, so if you are attending the Virtuoso Symposium and do want to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Chiangmai in Conjunction with special rates provided by Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai & Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiangmai Please contact us directly at : info@wannatours.com – Please note we are limiting each Program to a maximum of 24 Clients – so book soon !!

This morning we have a trip to the Northern Elephant Training Center. Here we watch a demonstration of working Elephants then take an Elephant Ride through the "jungle" to a Lisu Hill Tribe Village (approx. 45 minutes). After a look around the Village, we return by Elephant, or have the option for a short walk back to the Elephant Camp. During the rest of the day we can also have a gentle trip down-river on a Bamboo Raft (approx. 45 minutes), we will have a Local Lunch and can visit the nearby Orchid & Botanical Gardens before returning to the Resort in the late afternoon.
Rest of the Afternoon & Evening at your leisure in the Resort.
Vehicles available for a visit to the Chiangmai Night Bazaar.

15 or 24 March.
This morning we leave the Resort early and take a short drive to the foot of Doi Suthep, where you can take part in a merit making ceremony by giving Alms (some food & drink, etc.) to the local Monks from Wat Sri Soda. This is an amazing and moving site with usually hundreds of Saffron Robed Monks walking out of the Temple. After this we then drive up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, the most venerated Temple in Chiangmai, situated on the hill-side some 3000 ft. above the City in the Doi Pui National Park. En route up the mountain we stop for a short “Breakfast” coffee break before visiting The Temple itself (before all the crowds arrive !!). From the Temple Grounds there are panoramic views over Chiangmai and the surrounding area. On our descent we have lunch at a local restaurant, after which we return to the Resort where the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
Guides & Vehicles will also be available for your to explore in & around Chiangmai City.

COSTS.
Your Nett Costs for either Program as indicated would be dependent on the Final Numbers in the Group and would work out as:
1. Based on the Four Seasons Resort Chiangmai -Pavilion Suite.
• For Group Size of 4-10 Clients : US$950. Per Person (Based on Sharing Twin/Double Suite)
For Group Size of 11-24 Clients : US$880. Per Person (Based on Sharing Twin/Double Suite)

For Group Size of 11-24 Clients : US$680. Per Person (Based on Sharing Twin/Double Suite)

Air Tickets
As you would need to fly from Singapore to Chiangmai (and return), for this Program – and as we are not an Air Ticketing Agent, it would certainly prove more economical for you to book your own Air Tickets for this sector, either through your own CRS, on-line or possibly in conjunction with your International Tickets from the US.
We have therefore NOT included any Air Tickets or Air Ticketing arrangements in our Costs.

Booking.
Since we are limiting these Programs to a Maximum of 24 per trip, we would recommend early booking to avoid any disappointment, and we would need the following information in order to proceed with a booking:
Full Flight Details & Dates of Arrival & Departure Flights (Chiangmai).
Full Name (as per passport) & Agency.
Choice of Resort in Chiangmai - Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental .
Number in your Party and Rooming required
